President & Founder of Live 2 Design Ltd.
Lead Architectural Drafting & Designer.
Alicia Olschewski is the proud owner of Live 2 Design Ltd, founded in West Chezzetcook on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia in 2019. Currently Live 2 Design operates out of Burnside Nova scotia with an in person or online experience as well as occasionally from her home office in Ship Harbour on the eastern shore for local clients.
With over a decade and a half of experience in the industry, her passion and dedication for technical design, function first, space planning and serving people always reflects in her work.
She grew up watching family members build and renovate their own homes. A normal Saturday often consisted of either passing tools to her Father while he worked on his latest project, hanging out at her Oma and Opa's custom drapery shop, wood working with her Grandfather in his woodshop, or rearranging her (or her siblings and cousins) bedrooms.
Following her passions, her career began in Downtown Halifax in 2012 doing Interior Decorating, quickly realizing she wanted to grow and utilize her technical skills too. Alicia took a year off to have her baby, and then jumped into the Architectural Drafting course at NSCC, while working for a local project desk & paint department. Once graduating in 2015 with her diploma, she worked in the field as a project coordinator and a lead designer for a local renovation design build firm until 2019, when she took a leap of faith and founded Live 2 Design Ltd in her basement. Throughout the most recent years Alicia has worked hard on her spare time to achieve her BCIN Designer licence in Ontario which means she is a qualified professional certified by the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. It Legalizes authorities such as designers and building officials to prepare plans and submit for permit under the Ontario Building Code.
Alicia is passionate about working closely with clients to bring their renovation and new-build visions to life. She takes the time to understand each client’s goals, lifestyle, and priorities, creating thoughtful spaces that balance design intent, functionality, budget, and timelines.
With an equal passion for beautiful architectural design and the technical side of construction, Alicia believes that great design should be supported by clear, detailed, and thoughtfully developed construction drawings. Her goal is to bridge the gap between the client’s vision and the trades bringing that vision to life on site, ensuring the design is communicated clearly from concept through construction.
Alicia is continually learning, growing, and challenging herself to improve her craft. She believes a well-designed set of construction plans should communicate the full scope of a project clearly and confidently, leaving little room for uncertainty and giving everyone involved a clear understanding of the end goal.
For Alicia, the most rewarding part of the process is seeing an idea evolve from a client’s initial vision into a beautiful, functional space they are proud to call their own.
